BoxTop Setup for Terminal Server Users

This document describes the recommended setup for BoxTop Terminal Server users.

The BoxTop application should be installed on the server as per a standard workstation installation, copying the BoxTopWG.MDW file from the BoxTop directory on the server to the C:\BoxTop\ folder.
The user logon script should map a network drive to the BoxTopshared directory on the server as per the standard workstation installation.
The C:\Documents and Settings\ folder on the terminal server should be shared and given a sharename of "Docs". This can be a hidden share if required.

For new users create a folder in C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\ called BoxTop. in this folder place the latest version of BoxTop.mde, Reports.mdb and Correspondence.mde.

For existing users copy the folder called BoxTop from the Default User profile to the Documents and Settings folder for the user.

In the Desktop folder for ALL Users place a short cut to BoxTop.mde using the following path as the target:
"C:\BoxTop\Runtime\MSAccess.exe /runtime W:\BoxTop\Boxtop.mde /wrkgrp C:\BoxTop\BoxTopWG.MDW"
In the Start Menu for All Users you will need to change the BoxTop shortcut to match the above path.

In the \Windows\System32\ direcotry the BoxTopUpgrade.ini file should be edited to reflect the normal upgrade path for the server drive, however the local drive letter will now be W:

In Active Directory Users and Computers double click the user icon and select Terminal Services Profile. In the Terminal Services Home Folder section click Connect, select W: in the drop down list and type the following in the To: section:
"\\TerminalServerName\Docs\%UserName%"
Ensure there is a tick in the Allow Logon to Terminal Server box below this.

Other settings that are recommended are within the Sesions tabe of the user properties and should be set as follows:

End a disconnected session: 1 Minute
Active session limit: Never
Idle session limit: 1 Hour
When a session limit is reached or a connection is broken: End session
